Iran Alive

August 2019

Project Description

Website

Iran Alive is in need of a new website to effectively tell the story of the ministry, raise money to continue the mission and build credibility. The new Iran Alive branding is modern and eye catching, but this is not reflected on the website. Beyond these issues, there are usability issues on the current website which make it difficult to use and do not represent the quality of the organization.

Design

The website should appear inline with the overall Iran Alive branding; well designed and easy to digest. Potential donors should be able to find what they are looking for in as few clicks as possible. The design will lead the user toward learning about the ministry and taking the action of becoming a donor to support this transformative ministry. It should entice both to stay and learn more through clean, clear and professional layouts. All of this will build and solidify the credibility of Iran Alive.

Calls to Action

We recommend using clear Calls to Action across the website. It should be clear what we want users to do and how they do that. We want users to take the direct action of becoming a donor, whether they are on a campaign page or the website as a whole. That is our Direct call to action. It should be clear and well stated. Almost all roads should lead to this ask. There should be a transitional call to action for the lightly engaged user to give Iran Alive their information for future use. This is less prominent but helps capture the interested but not yet committed. All calls to action are tracked via Google Analytics for tracking in ad campaigns.

Responsive Design

Google and other search engines prioritize websites which are responsive over those which are not.  The mobile design must be considered from the first line of code. We use frameworks which are built to be mobile as every block of content is designed, edited and published.

Giving Integration

Whether it is switching to Donor Box or customizing Clover, the goal is to marry the website and the giving experience as closely together as possible. This helps create a unified experience for the donors.

Analytics

All website data is tracked via Analytics, Facebook Pixel and any other pertinent scripts. We like to track as much as possible so we know ‘who’ is coming, what they are clicking on, where they came from, when they came back, etc. We offer monthly maintenance packages in which we are available for support, updates, security checks and Analytics reporting.

Web Security

Install and configure website security tool to minimize threat of malicious code, hack attempts and other potential security threats to Iran Alive and its website. Harden the website by limiting false login attempts and automatically blocking malicious IP addresses.

Landing Page Template

Create a library of landing page template pieces for creating well designed, on brand campaign landing pages which convert to higher donation levels. This is about creating a flow of information down the page with calls to action which a clear and frequent. Landing pages need to tell the story of the campaign in a compelling way which leads to conversions.

A/B Split Testing

Set up a workflow for creating and testing A/B Split tests. Conversion analytics play a huge role in determining what is working. We create the first split tests for a campaign, run the test and report back results. The Sky Floor will suggest more parameters and run additional tests with the goal of understanding what works for the Iran Alive audience when it comes to conversion.

About Us

The Sky Floor was founded in 2009 by Alan and Joel Miller with the purpose of creating original designs, custom websites and creative content for businesses and non-profits.

We have had the chance to work with a wide variety of Churches, non-profits and businesses. From Fortune 500 company Pitney-Bowes to local plumbers. We enjoy learning about different organizations and how they run.

We view every element of operating as marketing, as a chance to tell the story of why you do what you do.

Marketing is more than flyers or ads.

It is how your people interact with your customers. It is how your website is designed and functions. It is figuring out the best flow for your space.

In short it is caring about what you do.

We join your team to define and meet these goals.

Our Team

At The Sky Floor there are no sales people. You collaborate directly with your designers and developers. This means you get a consistent approach and realistic expectations. We have different roles but collaborate within our strengths and weaknesses. A two person team dedicated to quality and creativity.

What We Do

Web design is not just about what is trending or cool, it is a collaborative process of creating a welcoming, informative experience which conveys who you are.
1
Discovery

Discovery

We work with you to learn about your organization. It is important that we understand your goals but also how you work. This allows us to make choices more like a part of your team and not an outside contractor.

Discovery
2
Design

Design

Using the information from the discovery stage we create 2-3 designs.

After the initial feedback we work with you to generate variations on the designs which result in a polished template for the development stage.

Design
3
Development

Development

Development is taking the designs and making them function in a coded environment. In the case of a CMS we start with the raw html and then hook it into the back end in a way which makes it easy for content creators to understand and update.

Development

Measure

Measure

After a site is done we monitor the initial impact via analytics. We will use any user feedback and data from analytics to make adjustments to order and layout which will help the user have a good experience.
