Disability Checkup

April 2019

Project Description

Brand Identity

Create a logo, color and font treatment for Disability Checkup. Once Brand is created produce business cards, letterhead and other physical materials. Create a style guide with brand guidelines for future use.

Website

Build a website as the digital presence of Disability Checkup. The website should be modern, clean and easy to use and navigate. It needs to appeal to millennials while not offending older audiences. The website will be built in stages, with the first stage being a more simple online brochure and then leading toward a full national lead capture system with tracking and routing referrals.

The website will have a big focus on the story of Disability Checkup. We want to identify the users need to be protected against disability and guide them to successful outcomes, while reminding them that a tragic outcome is possible. We do this through stories and videos.

Website Features
Calls to Action

All calls to action will be trackable so we can determine who is coming to the website and what they are doing there. This allows for improving weak spots, seeing how changes are impacting traffic and knowing more about the users that are going from spectator to engaged in the mission.

We focus on having a singular direct call to action that the user knows they can interact with. We also encourage what some call transitional calls to action. This is a CTA where the users information may be collected in exchange for a free resource or white paper.

Contact

Create a contact form which is easy to find, clear to use and routes the lead to the proper channel. Utilize a form system that is easy to update for and allows for easy integrations with other services like CRMs and email marketing.

Sharing

Give users an easy way to send on the Disability Checkup website. This can be via social media or email. We want to take advantage of network effects, ‘people like us do things like this’.  Once someone is thinking of this for themselves, they may know of other who they will want to share it with. We want the ability to pass this on to be as easy as possible.

Analytics

All website data is tracked via Analytics, Facebook Pixel and any other pertinent scripts. We like to track as much as possible so we know ‘who’ is coming, what they are clicking on, where they came from, when they came back, if they came from Social media, etc. Our monthly maintenance always comes with Analytics reporting.

SEO

Every website we create is optimized at the code level for search engine optimization. This means properly tagging content, configuring plugins like Yoast or SEO Press and guiding you on best practices using these tools. In the process, we also consult on the larger picture of SEO besides tags, descriptions and keywords.

Videos

One content type that will be heavily used down the road is video. We believe video can be the most powerful way to tell a story that is impactful and shareable. We would want to house stories when disability insurance helped, and when not having it hurt. The video pages would have a special format to showcase the video, and to include key photos, quotes and copy. The can be a powerful source of social traffic and search engine relevance.

A/B Split Testing the Website
(Optional)

As an option, we are proposing launching the website with a A/B split test running from day one. We will design 2-3 variations on the home page and calls to action on the home page and serve those to some of the traffic. The split test will be integrated with Google Analytic and evaluated based on a primary goal and up to two secondary goals.

The first test runs for 2-3 weeks. After that we take the winner and create 2 more variations to test against. In the end we build a report with the types of language, colors and positioning of elements that resonate most with your audience.

The goal here is to take some of the guess work out of converting website users into leads. After this initial period of two tests A/B testing is available in the monthly maintenance agreement or on a per test basis.

About Us

The Sky Floor was founded in 2009 by Alan and Joel Miller with the purpose of creating original designs, custom websites and creative content for businesses and non-profits.

We have had the chance to work with a wide variety of Churches, non-profits and businesses. From Fortune 500 company Pitney-Bowes to local plumbers. We enjoy learning about different organizations and how they run.

We view every element of operating as marketing, as a chance to tell the story of why you do what you do.

Marketing is more than flyers or ads.

It is how your people interact with your customers. It is how your website is designed and functions. It is figuring out the best flow for your space.

In short it is caring about what you do.

We join your team to define and meet these goals.

Our Team

At The Sky Floor there are no sales people. You collaborate directly with your designers and developers. This means you get a consistent approach and realistic expectations. We have different roles but collaborate within our strengths and weaknesses. A two person team dedicated to quality and creativity.

What We Do

Web design is not just about what is trending or cool, it is a collaborative process of creating a welcoming, informative experience which conveys who you are.
1

Discovery

We work with you to learn about your organization. It is important that we understand your goals but also how you work. This allows us to make choices more like a part of your team and not an outside contractor.

2

Design

Using the information from the discovery stage we create 2-3 designs.

After the initial feedback we work with you to generate variations on the designs which result in a polished template for the development stage.

3

Development

Development is taking the designs and making them function in a coded environment. In the case of a CMS we start with the raw html and then hook it into the back end in a way which makes it easy for content creators to understand and update.

4

Measure

After a site is done we monitor the initial impact via analytics. We will use any user feedback and data from analytics to make adjustments to order and layout which will help the user have a good experience.
